Awareness on Menstrual Hygiene
During menstruation, women’s hygiene practices are crucial since they may increase their sensitivity to Reproductive Tract Infections (RTIs). Therefore, poor menstrual hygiene is a vital contributor to female morbidity and leads to the high prevalence of RTIs in the nation. Unfortunately, the concept of menstruation is still taboo, and there is still a long way to go. To make women and girls feel empowered to manage their periods safely, hygienically, confidently, the Active Action team explored the rural area in Jamalpur and distributed clean, sanitary pads to the women. We also educated them on how to use the pads and the importance of using clean water.
